Verification that took weeks takes seconds, and it can be repeated at each shift rather than once a year. If a license is withdrawn or a clinician is placed under review, the credential is revoked or temporarily suspended and restored later, so what a hospital sees at the door reflects the clinician's status today, not at the time of the last credentialing cycle.
