Oil & Gas
Site access in energy operations depends on certifications the operator did not issue: safety training, competency cards, medical fitness, equipment tickets, permits to work. With a largely contracted workforce and high turnover, these arrive as photocopies and PDFs at the gate, are checked by eye, and expire without anyone noticing. The consequences of getting it wrong are regulatory and physical, not just administrative.

What changes with iDen2
Issued once, verified anywhere
iDen2 allows training providers, medical assessors and certifying bodies to issue those qualifications as verifiable credentials held by the worker. Contractor onboarding and site access checks confirm in seconds that every certificate is genuine, current and issued by a recognized body, rather than trusting a document someone printed. Withdrawn or expired certifications are canceled at source, so a worker whose competency has lapsed cannot pass a gate check anywhere on the network.
